How to Apply Online for Caste Certificate in Rajasthan (SSO & e-Mitra)

Applying for a caste certificate (*Jati Praman Patra*) in Rajasthan can be done entirely online from home using your Rajasthan SSO ID (sso.rajasthan.gov.in) or through an authorized e-Mitra Kiosk. Follow this verified step-by-step procedure to avoid common rejection mistakes.

Mandatory First Step Before Logging Online: Get the Physical Form Attested

Unlike some other states where application is 100% paperless from start to finish, Rajasthan requires you to first fill an offline application form (प्रपत्र) and obtain:

  • Signatures and official seals from Two Responsible Persons (दो उत्तरदायी व्यक्ति) — e.g. Gazetted Officer, School Principal, Govt Doctor, Sarpanch, or Ward Parshad.
  • Official inquiry report and signature from your local Halka Patwari (हल्का पटवारी).

Keep this attested form scanned as a clear PDF under 200 KB before you begin the online steps below. Use our free compressor tool to resize images or PDFs.

Step-by-Step Citizen Online Application Procedure:

1Log into Rajasthan SSO Portal (sso.rajasthan.gov.in)

Open sso.rajasthan.gov.in . Enter your digital SSO ID (Username) and Password. If you do not have an SSO ID, click Registration and create one in 2 minutes using your Jan Aadhaar Card or Google Account.

2Open the e-Mitra Application from Citizen Apps

Once inside your SSO dashboard, switch to the Citizen Apps (G2C) tab. Locate and click on the e-Mitra (or e-Mitra New) icon. This will open the citizen service delivery portal.

3Search for Caste Certificate Service in Application Services

In the top menu, go to Services > Application Services (सेवाएं > आवेदन सेवाएं). In the search box, type Caste or Jati. A list of specific services will appear. Select the exact service according to your category:

  • Application Form for Caste Certificate - SC
  • Application Form for Caste Certificate - ST
  • Application Form for Caste Certificate - OBC (State / Central)
  • Application Form for Caste Certificate - MBC / EWS
4Input 10-Digit Jan Aadhaar ID & Fetch Family Data

The portal will ask: “Enter Jan Aadhaar Number / Enrollment ID”. Type your 10-digit family Jan Aadhaar number. Click Fetch Data. The system will display all members registered under that family. Select the individual applying, and verify via Aadhaar OTP sent to the registered mobile.

5Verify Auto-Filled Details & Select Sub-Caste

Your name, photo, father's name, and address will be auto-populated from Jan Aadhaar. Now select your District, Tehsil, and Gram Panchayat / Ward. From the state gazette dropdown, choose your exact notified Sub-Caste (उप-जाति). For OBC applicants, enter annual gross family income to prove Non-Creamy Layer eligibility.

6Upload Scanned Documents (Application Form, Jan Aadhaar & Jamabandi)

Upload PDF copies of: (1) The scanned Application Form with Two Responsible Persons signatures and Patwari report; (2) Jan Aadhaar Card; (3) Identity Proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID); (4) Ancestral Land Record / Jamabandi (जमाबंदी नकल) from apnakhata.rajasthan.gov.in or father's old school TC.

7Pay Processing Fee & Download Token Receipt

Government application fee is ₹0. Pay the standard online transaction / kiosk facilitation fee (around ₹40 to ₹50) using Net Banking, UPI, or Debit Card. After payment, an **e-Mitra Token Receipt (टोकन रसीद)** will appear with your unique 11-digit Transaction/Token Number. Print or save this receipt.

Applying via an Authorized e-Mitra Kiosk Operator

If you prefer not to apply online yourself, you can visit any of the 85,000+ authorized e-Mitra kiosks across Rajasthan:

  1. Carry your physical filled application form (signed by Two Responsible Persons and Halka Patwari).
  2. Carry your original Jan Aadhaar Card, Aadhaar Card, and land record (Jamabandi).
  3. The kiosk operator scans your papers, submits them via their official e-Mitra portal, and gives you a printed computer receipt with a **Token Number**.
  4. The standard authorized service charge is ₹40 to ₹50. Do not pay any extra unauthorized agent fee.

Top 4 Rejection Traps in Rajasthan & How to Avoid Them

1. Mismatch in Jan Aadhaar Data:

If your name spelling or father's name in Jan Aadhaar differs from your Class 10 marksheet, the Tehsildar will reject the application. Fix Jan Aadhaar first.

2. Missing Patwari Report:

Uploading an application form without the local Halka Patwari's signature and round seal causes immediate rejection during stage 2 scrutiny.

3. Married Women Using Husband's Name:

In Rajasthan, caste is strictly determined by paternal birth. Applying with husband's details or matrimonial in-law address leads to direct cancellation.

4. Blurry or Over-Compressed PDF:

Ensure the Patwari's handwritten report and the seals of the Two Responsible Persons are clearly legible in your uploaded PDF file.
