Married Women: Paternal Records Rule (*Valsamma Paul* Rule)
Husband's Documents Carry Zero Legal Validity for Caste
In accordance with Supreme Court rulings in Valsamma Paul and Himachal Pradesh Government circulars, caste status cannot be acquired by marriage. Married women must submit their biological father's Bonafide Himachali certificate, father's Pariwar Register Nakal, and apply through their father's ancestral Tehsil. Applications submitted with husband's caste records are rejected during scrutiny.
