How to Track Jharkhand Caste Certificate Status Online (Without Login)

After submitting your caste certificate application on the JharSewa portal (jharsewa.jharkhand.gov.in), you do NOT need to make repeated visits to the Anchal Office or track down the local Halka Karamchari. JharSewa provides an integrated, publicly accessible application tracking utility where you can view the live progress of your file in real time.

Step-by-Step Instructions to Track Application on JharSewa:

1

Access the JharSewa Tracking Utility

Open jharsewa.jharkhand.gov.in and locate the left-hand menu. Under the “Citizen Section”, click on “Track Application Status”.
2

Choose “Through Application Reference Number”

Select the radio button labeled Through Application Reference Number. Enter your exact tracking number from your JharSewa acknowledgement slip:
  • For Scheduled Tribe: JHCST/YYYY/XXXXXX
  • For Scheduled Caste: JHCSC/YYYY/XXXXXX
  • For BC-I / BC-II (OBC): JHCBC/YYYY/XXXXXX
3

Select Verification Date

Select the radio button for “Application Submission Date” and select the date on which you applied from the calendar picker.
4

Enter Security Captcha & View Live Hierarchy

Enter the numeric/text captcha and click Submit. Select whether you want to view full status with OTP authentication or basic process progression. The complete administrative movement table will appear on screen.

Decoding Your JharSewa Status Messages:

Under Process / Field Inquiry

Your application has been assigned to your local Halka Karamchari (राजस्व उपनिरीक्षक). They are checking Khatiyan records or conducting local field verification to confirm your caste claims.

Circle Inspector Review

The Karamchari has submitted the verification report. The Circle Inspector (CI) is reviewing the lineage evidence and recommending approval to the Circle Officer.

Approved / Delivered

The Circle Officer (CO) has digitally signed the certificate using their cryptographic DSC token. You can now download the official PDF directly from the portal.

Rejected / Query Raised

An objection was raised (e.g. illegible Khatiyan scan, landless affidavit missing, or married woman applying with husband's address). Log in to JharSewa to view the exact remark and re-upload documents.

Statutory SLA & What to Do If Your Certificate Is Delayed?

Under the Jharkhand Right to Public Services Act, the statutory delivery timeline for a caste certificate is 15 to 30 working days (or faster under Tatkal).

If your application remains pending past 30 days without justification, you can file a First Appeal (प्रथम अपील) directly to the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) as the designated appellate authority under the Act. You can also contact the JharSewa technical desk at 0651-2446626 or email [email protected].
