Legal Framework

An application forms for availing the caste certificate in Jammu and Kashmir are easily available through online or offline that is from the concerned local department in the particular City or Town or Village.

And which is usually the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate SDM  or of the Tehsil or Revenue Department officer. If in case there is no one in your family who has been issued the caste certificate ,then in that case , a local enquiry will be conducted before issuing the Certificate to you.   • In case of female caste certificate before marriage.
  • A Self – Attested certificate.
  • The total fees for the caste certificate will be charged for the application form is Rs.15/- only.

 

How it is to be Done:

For obtaining the caste certificate you must have the application form which has to be attested by MLA / MP , Municipal Councilor or any govt Gazatted officer. All the important copies of ration card, residence proof and identity proof must be submitted. Also school leaving certificate has to be submitted along with the caste certificate application.

The notary public issued affidavit which includes the person’s name, father name, residential address and other details etc ; which should also be submitted for getting caste certificate.There will be no extra fees charged for obtaining the caste certificate in Jammu and Kashmir state.

The verification of the given details by the person can be done by the concerned local authority and also they avoided the application request if they found that any of the family members of the applicant has already obtained or issued  the caste certificate.

In case of  any married women, the concerned local inquiry will be done from both  place of her mother and at the place of residence where she is staying after marriage.
