Caste Certificate in Uttar Pradesh
If person belongs to the caste which is listed in Schedule-1 of the Uttar Pradesh Public Services which is (Reservation for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes) Act, 1994) and if any person who belongs to the caste amended by the Government in Schedule-1 of the aforesaid Act, can apply for a caste certificate through the govt department with the prescribed manner along with the required enclosures/documents.
The schedule caste or schedule tribe , other backward caste Certificate is a Caste Certificate. It is an important document which states about the fact that one is belonging to the schedule caste or tribe community i.e; SC, ST, OBC. This is an important document for the person belonging to the particular category or class.
WHAT IS THE NEED OF CASTE CERTIFICATE?
Caste Certificate enables the person who belonging to avail of the reservation facilities which is provided by the Government of India to encourage the people belonging to these categories to avail education and other privileges which are offered by the Government of India. The main objective of this is to providing the SC,ST classes to provide equal opportunities for education and other services without having any kind of discremination. The caste certificate is an essential document to avail various facilities provided by the Govt of India and these facilities are furnished below:
- To avail of the reservations in educational institutes or colleges
- To avail of the reservations in government service
- To avail of the reservations in legislatures
- To obtain relaxation in the upper age limit for govt jobs
- To avail the chance to apply for the Scholarship schemes.
An applicant should submit the application form to the concerned Tehsildar on any working day. The application form has to be filled in a prescribed format and after submitting obtain the slip/ receipt of the same from the concerned authorities.
First you need to submit the Certificate from Gram Pradhan / Ward member with two witnesses certifying caste.
- After that submit an Affidavit about caste.
- An applicant must be a citizen of India.
- Applicant also need to deposit Court fee of Rs. 1.50 in the form of Stamp.
Then the concerned Tehsildar will get an inquiry report from local Lekhpal / Revenue Inspector in the prescribed format, and shall issue the Caste Certificate within a seven days from the date of application.
District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/City Magistrate / Sub-Divisional Magistrate/ Tehsildar of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides.
